… rises in central Pender County NE of the town of Burgaw and flows SE into Northeast Cape Fear River. Appears on the Collet map, 1770, as Bargaw Creek and on the Mouzon map, 1775, as Bergaw Creek. Burgaw Plantation in the vicinity appears in records of 1764.
