Lenox Castle

… former resort in SE Rockingham County. A tavern, baths, store, and springs made it a popular spa; probably operated prior to 1800, but flourished from 1803 until after 1844. Named for John Lenox, who advertised his tavern as "The Castle of Thundertontrenck" in 1804. A post office as late as 1882.
