Atkinson

… town in W Pender County. Laid out on the lands of W. H. Lewis in 1883 (the year after a station had been est. there on the railroad) and known as Lewis. Inc. 1909 as Atkinson, named for an engineer whose work sped the completion of the railroad. Alt. 65.
