Mount Pleasant

… town in E Cabarrus County. Alt. 630. Settled about 1750 by Germans from Pennsylvania. Inc. 1859. Took its name from its elevated site between Buffalo Creek and Adams Creek. Former home of 2 Lutheran Synod church schools: Mount Pleasant Collegiate Institute (male) and Mount Amoena Seminary (female).
