Horse Cove
SE Macon County, through which Edwards and Blackrock Creeks flow. A post office by the name served the area in the late nineteenth century. Woodrow Wilson, in a letter written from Horse Cove on July 30, 1879, reported that he spent a part of the summer there with his mother and other relatives. John R. Thompson rented summer homes and furnished meals for visitors from New Orleans, Charleston, and other coastal cities. Highlands, which see, was being developed nearby at about the same time.
