Bennetts Millpond

A millpond in Chowan County
… on Rockyhock Creek in central Chowan County. Formed about 1856. 2 mi. long and ⅓ mi. wide, centering near lat. 36°09'10" N., long. 76°39'40" W. Covers approx. 50 acres. Max. depth 6 to 8 ft. Probably named for William Bennett (d. 1785), an early owner of the site.
